January 17th 1958: The cold war is raging on the Earth. On Mars, the war is not so cold. The NATO and the Soviet Union confront each other to gain control of the Red Planet.
One of the two Americans rescued by the team is named Davidson. He recovers in a few hours and gets permission to search building a11, supposedly a crematorium. He remember seeing something very strange there: a human shaped blue light. Then he remembers nothing. The team lead by Ratti escorts Davidson in this exploration.
As soon as the soldiers enter the building, they are confronted by two Russians. One immediately runs to the right, where a pit and a ladder apparently take to an underground floor. The other Russian shots and hits Ratti.
Campano and Verdi fail to stop the Russian directed to the ladder. The other one keeps fighting. Davidson hits the running Russian, but he still manages to disappear down the ladder. Campano and Ratti finally defeat the other one in a furious brawl. They found in his jacket a map of a Crater that the NATO forces call “Rogers”.
The team goes down the ladder, but they are immediately confronted by heavy fire. Ratti and Davidson are knocked down and the team must retreat.

I had another run with “Patrol: Lost!”, mapping more of the Martian city. I started from the octagonal square where I finished the previous session. Also this time, the NATO patrolling platoon has been destroyed by the Soviets.
I completed the two map fragments from the two Patrol Lost sessions to produce a complete city map. The first session mapped Sector A. This new session mapped Sectors C, D and E. I arbitrarily added Sector B, freely completing the other Sectors.
Building “a6” is the Power Plant visited in the previous Pulp Alley skirmish session.

Ratti, Campano and Verdi must go into one of the building in the Southern area of city M17. It is a Martian power plant. Possibly, some Soviet soldiers are still inside the building, they could also have some NATO prisoners with them.
The team enters the building from the square at the North-Weestern corner. The entrance is a small empty room. From there, they enter the main room. While passing the door, Campano is hit by an electric discharge. The three are confronted by a single Soviet, arriving from the back of the building. The Russian shots Verdi. Campano runs forward for a brawl. The Russian resists for a while the combined efforts of the three Italians, but finally he is defeated. In the back room, two American prisoners are found.
(This was my first game with Pulp Alley: rather satisfactory, but I don’t master the rules yet)

I made a small experiment, patrolling an unknown Martian city (M17) using the rules of “Patrol Lost”:
I did not use the classical hexagonal tiles, but just drew the map rolling for the kind of tiles I should have gotten. The “Good Guys” are Green (plain guy), Blue (Close Combat specialist) and Purple (Ranged Combat specialist). The Bad Guys (the Russians) are Red. The Good Guys managed to reach the final location (at the top of the map) but they were all forced to retreat and finally killed without finishing a turn in it. So the Bad Guys won.
These are various steps during the game. The patrolling platoon started at the Southern gate of the city, on January 14th 1958. The Yellow tokens are the dead Good Guys. The round square at the center of the map was marked as a Hazard (a unit has a 50% probability of being unable to leave it). A unit was eliminated there. The others were eliminated in the final location.
